Jissel is from Parkview Elementary in Lamar. The posters of all 48 school winners were displayed on the first floor of the Colorado State Capitol from April 24th through April 30th and Jissel was recognized at an event at the Capitol on April 28th.
This year’s poster theme was “Celebrate Trees in Our Community”. Colorado fifth graders from around the state participated, with schools submitting winning posters for the statewide judging event. The Colorado Tree Coalition selected Jissel Silva’s poster as the winner of the 2014 Colorado Arbor Day Poster Contest!
